SewGood iOS App
Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Justinmind Prototyper
Project Brief: Students will work together on evaluating a textile repurposing/remarketing plan as a project for the duration of the semester. This project will include the following four elements: Technical Feasibility, Economic Feasibility, Poster Presentation, and Business Plan.
Visual design of an iOS app and animated logo created for an experimental fashion course called Thrift Shop (RE) Workshop (FASH367 011). In this course we had the incredible opportunity to work with an amazing client, Goodwill. They came to us with the need for an innovative and feasible solution to solve their problem of having an excess amount of textiles being donated to their stores. Business plans submitted are currently being researched by Goodwill.
Research flow:
-Goodwill Recycling Center
-Pugh Concepts
-Tech Feasibility
-Economic Feasibility
-Poster Presentation
Concept:
-broad topic=preventing textile waste before it even gets to Goodwill
-target market is women aged 15-30, who frequently buy fast fashion garments and are social media aficionados
-iOS app that will educate consumers about the lifecycle of the clothes they purchase//show users Goodwill has great quality, brand name clothing at an amazing price
-users can view everything from where the fiber was grown to what type of dye was used
-special features="Treasure Hunt", social media integration, community
-hope to change consumers' consumption habits of purchasing cheap quality, fast fashion clothing and discarding them after only a few uses
-slogan=the more they know, the less they'll waste
-logo=recycling symbols, gradient, and something to do with shopping
