Organic Daydreams
Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Trend forecasting, Technical flats
Created for Fashion Forecasting and Design (FASH333). This project required trend forecasting in a field other than fashion. The non-fashion trend was then intertwined into fashion, and five technical flats were created. Sustainability was the non-fashion trend I chose, and my forecast was:
"I predict that the government integrates sustainability into laws centered on fashion and apparel. In the future, the products we call “green” and “sustainable” won’t be called that anymore, because sustainable qualities will be required for products to pass new government health and safety regulations. Sustainability will be a part of everyday life."
The color palette that was selected came directly from nature I photographed in Los Angeles. The futuristic names of the colors came from combining the names of two things in nature. The silhouettes are all multifunctional, and the textiles are dyed with natural dyes. The textiles themselves are all Eco-friendly blends, with some of the blends in production today and some of the blends a glimpse of what we may see in the next decade.
